OREGON CITY - Longtime member Judy Ervin announced her
retirement from the Clackamas Community College Board of Education
on Wednesday. Ervin, who represents the Gladstone area, has served
on the board since 2005.
"After many years of volunteer service at Clackamas and
elsewhere, Judy will be greatly missed, but she will remain a
valued member of the CCC family," said President Joanne Truesdell.
"Her leadership has been integral to our success as an institution,
most recently with our successful bond campaign."
A longtime advocate for higher education, Ervin served as the
Oregon Community College Association board president in 2011-12.
She served as a Gladstone city councilor for 20 years and as a
member of the Gladstone Library Board for 10 years.
CCC is governed by an elected board of directors representing
zones within the college district. Ervin represents zone 3, which
includes the city of Gladstone.
The board will begin the process to appoint a successor at its
December meeting. The appointment to represent zone 3 on the board
will continue through June 30, 2015, following the board election.
At that time, the appointed board member may run for election for
the position to fulfill the remainder of Ervin's unexpired term,
which ends in 2017.
